gressional leaders, Supreme Court justices, and several decades of former presidents and vice-presidents, I realized why this country is in the state it's in. For as long as anyone can remember, we have been led by people who, regardless of gender, age or party affiliation, lack the common sense to wear a hat when it's twenty-something degrees with a wind chill factor of 14 and you're going to be outside for an hour or two.As our President Obama prepares to spend the next several years dealing with a depressed economy, two wars, and living with his mother-in-law, let's wish him the wisdom and strength to be successful. I really don't want to think about the alternative.

The reason they don't wear hats is that if they all wore hats the media would not be able to tell one bozo from another.

Ok well, I feel similar and just posted about it, but as to the hats I think it's protocol for men to go hatless (silly as it seems) which started with our earliest Presidents, who wore huge white wigs which protected their huge white heads from the cold.
I suspect there was a bubble of hot air left over from the previous administration surrounding them.
Ok ol' Aretha wore a hat - that made me laugh! They just wouldn't be able to pull off a complete look in the time from winning the election to making the "outfits" and have it all match! Don't you go outside with your coat open on a cold day? Hmmmmmm it isn't Canada either. No toques either!
I don't know why your posts aren't appearing on my dashboard Ben but they obviously are not, hence this just-about-too-late comment! I think it's right and proper for Mr. President to be hatless for oath taking but you would think he would have one on the side to put on for hanging around. At least Mrs. O has plenty of hair on her head but a hat would have been a good finish to her outfit if not to be practical.
